SLIPPERY ROCK'S MEN'S

ICE HOCKEY CLUB

After a five-year campus ban, I rebuilt the the hockey teams digital presence as the teams Media Producer by leading the TikTok. Through consistent, trend-driven content, I helped reintroduce the group to campus and surrounding communities, generating 44,000+ views and growing the account by 200+ followers. I used my personal Sony a6700 camera and DJI RS 4 Mini gimbal, along with my iPhone 13 Pro Max, to capture content. I edited videos using Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut. TikToks include whiteboard questions and trendy sounds, both filmed on game days and practices.

WHITEBOARD QUESTIONS

Everyone knows the classic whiteboard questions sports teams use for content. I took that idea and made it more engaging by asking fun, welcoming questions to get the team energized before practice. I also mix in a few controversial ones to spark reactions. Overall, the guys love it. It’s a fast, easy, and entertaining way to get them comfortable and engaged on camera.

MIC-UPS

I used my wireless DJI Mic 2s during practice, hooking up different players each time. It started as a fun way to help people get to know the team, and now it’s turned into an ongoing series where I mic up someone new. I edited these with both Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut.

CLASSWORK

As part of my Multicamera Production class, I was tasked with producing and editing a 1 minute and 30 second field package. I chose to feature the men’s hockey team because our group’s final project was being promoted around Slippery Rock, and since the program is still relatively new, I wanted to help bring more visibility to the team. I conducted interviews with two players, captured in-game footage, and filmed cinematic shots of the team preparing to take the ice. I’m especially proud of how this piece turned out. I used my personal camera and gimbal for filming and edited the final package in Adobe Premiere Pro.
